Laura Bennett along with her husband Rich manage The Bridge Coffee Shop. When Laura was little girl, she remembers coming out of church and going to her grandma Ida DeRuiter’s house. The grandkids lovingly called her Grandma Cookie because she always had cookies and she helped bridge the family together. So, when Laura wanted to add a coffee shop alongside Ebels Clothing Department, she told her dad she wanted to have a place where people could come with their family, and they could just be. They could have a bridge of time and space for themselves and their needs. So that’s where the name of the coffee shop came from.
Both coffee shops always have fresh baked items to purchase from the Dawn Fresh Catering kitchen. You can get fresh scones, cookies, muffins, and other sweet treats each day.
Our Reed City location has a fast and convenient drive though, so you don’t even have to get out of your car. We also have fresh flowers from Sweet Blooms in McBain. We have quiet areas for students to study. Just a short drive from Ferris State University, we’ve got free Wi-Fi and lots of room to sip some coffee while you get some work done.
